Also thank you for sharing that first-person perspective. The Shah 100% engaged in dictatorial practices and the country was in bad shape by the time the revolution started in 1978. Even in history textbooks, unless you’re in higher education, the narrative presented is very American/European-centric, leaving out incredibly important evidence from Iranian people/sources.
It is easy for these stories to get sensationalized and we leave out the historical context (like Reagan’s aggressive policies and how that affects the landscape today).
