Hi Dayanne! thank you so much for responding and for your candor. I am glad you brought this to my attention (especially the sexual tourism aspect, something I was not aware of) and I appreciate you being willing to share your viewpoint, which I’m sure is shared by many individuals.

I can completely understand and empathize with what you are saying, it was wrong of me to use “Brazilians” on such a public platform, only adding to the misrepresentation and sexualization of your people. I went ahead and changed my title to be less misleading and less derogatory. I will personally be mindful of your thoughts, beyond my Medium writing, and stop using Brazilian as a term for full bikini waxing in my everyday life.
