A large percentage of suicides in Arctic countries is represented in the indigenous population that has monumentally higher suicide rates than their non-indigenous counterparts. Lots of research points to the cause being connected to the state-forced abandonment of indigenous cultural ways. Additionally, Arctic states, in general, have fairly high suicide rates. A lot of research points to things like SAD.
